Candy Hangover

Have you ever gotten a candy hangover? You know, that slight headache followed by a toothache the morning after Halloween? I may have only sneaked had a piece or two of Bug and Pup's stash, but it feels like my jaw has battled an entire bag of stale tootsie rolls. Eesh. I will certainly be adding "Pick out all suckers for Bug from candy bucket. Send rest with Mister to work." to my to-do list today.

Anyway. I would like to present the cutest two kiddos ever to grace this blog (tee hee) and their Halloween attire.

With the move to South Carolina so freshly behind us, Halloween was on the back burner this year. Where most years I would have taken the kids to the pumpkin patch and carted home an entire vehicle full, this year I did not even costume shop until 2:30 PM the day of. (Saved by Target, again!)

Mister was pretty convinced Bug looked like a girl in his puppy costume. "Can't he be something a little scarier? Like, Jason from that horror movie or a vampire ninja??" he asked me. I gave him the evil eye and promptly explained little kids are supposed to be cute and cuddly... not gory. (Although I think I'm outvoted on the use of fake blood next year. Gah.) Pup was simply recycling Halloween pajamas that Bug had worn last year.

Bug wasn't too keen on wearing the hooded hat portion of the costume, so he was able to get the "sad puppy dog" look down very well!! Mister thought he would be hilarious and put a sign out on our front lawn that said "Puppy For Sale". By the time the nineteenth neighbor had stopped by to look at the puppies and instead got "tricked", it wasn't funny anymore.

Halloween is quite the event in our new neighborhood. Everyone hangs out on their front porches, laughing and enjoying the somewhat cool Carolina air. We made it to a dozen or so houses before Bug decided he'd had enough and Pup was sound asleep. It was all very well though... we had candy to hand out at our house. I think our favorite trick-or-treater was a little boy about nine dressed as Fat Elvis. When we handed him his candy he replied, "Thank you. Thank you ver-ah much!" I thought Mister was going to fall off the porch laughing.
